Writing is a way for people to share their ideas and thoughts to others. Whether it's through a book, an email, a facebook post, or even a blog post, writing is a perfect way to communicate what someone is thinking. Writing has been around for a very long time. Some people consider works to be originals, although how they were written, or what they were written about, is mostly a remix. A remix is something that was remade based off of someone else’s work or using their ideas. Writing and remixes are highly connected. If someone is writing a novel, they may write it like another work that became popular in hope for their’s to do the same. They may even take a plot line and come up with a sequel or even a prequel to the story. Some authors may not realize that they took ideas from other books, although they really have. Authors have not come up with how to write on their own. They have read many books and the information coming from those stay in their heads, so when they begin to write their own piece, their mind is using knowledge from all of the books they have read. Not only are they thinking of what to write, but also what not to write. They are using all that they know to remix everything into one, successful piece.
I expect this course to have interesting topics and material, as well challenge me. My english course skills have lacked since I was young and it has always been my hardest subject. By the end of this semester, I hope to improve my writing and english skills.
