Blog Post 10

For my rhetorical assemblage I am thinking about doing the idea of preventing prop scarring on the grass beds in the Florida Bays. This is huge especially down in South Florida and greatly affects boaters, including my family who are huge boaters and fishermen. The grass beds are the nurseries of the ocean and when they are destroyed it in returns destroys and erodes the ocean and the wildlife living within it. Grass beds are primarily destroyed by boaters who do not know how to properly maneuver their boats within the channels. They are sometimes oblivious to where they are driving and then the prop digs into the grass and tears up the bottom of the ocean.
The exigence of this project would be preventing prop scarring on the grass beds of the Florida Bays. I hope this assemblage will accomplish the prevention of it and educate boaters on the correct way on how to maneuver their boats and when to use the prop and when not to so it does not affect the grass beds.
The audience of this assemblage would be the boaters within the Florida Bays because they are the majority of the people who are destroying the grass beds and damaging the ocean.
A constraint to this assemblage would probably be those boaters who don’t think they are doing anything wrong when they are boating. Also it could be boaters that are visiting the Florida Bays and don’t realize how vital the grass beds are to the ocean.
The genre would wildlife preservation because we are trying to preserve the grass beds in the ocean by educating boaters on how to properly use the prop on the boat.

Modes could include posters that advertise the dangers boating props do to the grass beds and the effects it has on them. I would use pictures and texts on the poster to demonstrate the hazards people cause when they are inconsiderate on how to use their prop.
