For this assemblage project I have a few ideas that are in the process of being detailed. Ideas such as convincing parents not to give their children fully-functioning cellphones at such young ages, 4-9 year olds. The exigence would be to improve adolescent children's health in the long run, things such as brain cancer and tumor's have higher risks of showing up in individuals who have been exposed to the long-term effects of radiation from cellphone use. Also to keep the child safe from the realities of the internet and what they could look up when given the tools to do so. And the unified uninterest in school on social media, is a bad precursor to having long term educational goals in the future. The audience would be the susceptible parents who are easily coerced by the children to provide them with such devices.
The constraints would include mostly Ethos, because the parents may feel that the individual child himself shows greater responsibility, character, and maturity than other kids their age. Or situationally, the child could be exposed to potentially dangerous situations such as walking home alone.
I could possibly present this assemblage through a sign or poster of some sort, that would be present in or around an elementary school. So that parents dropping off their children would be exposed to the assemblage. In the assemblage itself I would include statistics, images of kids who are negatively affected by cellphone use, and parents "testimonies" to having happier, livelier children who have no cellphone.
