Idea #1. Daft Punk’s “One More Time”
Daft Punk’s “One More Time” includes samples from Eddie John’s “More Spell on You”. Daft Punk refused the claim that they sampled at first however now they say they did use the song. They stole from the original song the synthesizer brass chords and sound, and then they also used the general base line from the track. If both songs are listened too, you can tell that it is taken from the first song. Daft Punk only changed the rhythm of the brass sounds making it sound spliced together. With the bass line, the same exact notes are used in a descending fashion just like the first song however it is looped a few times here and there to make the song One More Time have that electronic feel and then there is alterations to the instrument used to produce it the bass however it still sounds almost the exact same.
Idea #2. Lupe Fiasco’s “Lightwork”
Lupe Fiasco’s “Lightwork" is an electronic/dubstep rap song. What he did was rap over Bassnectar’s remix of Ellie Goulding’s “Lights.” The song “Lights” by Ellie Gouldning is not a true original. She got the song name from the group Electric Light Orchestra, hence the name “Lights.” This group has a song named “Turn to Stone,” which Ellie Goulding took the lyrics, "you show the lights that stop me turn to stone,” and added them into her song.
Idea #3. Coldplay’s “A Sky Full of Stars” Music Video
Their music video idea was taken off of Sticky Finger’s “Australia Street” music video which was released a year before. Both of them are the main singer walking across sidewalks and down streets in one continuos shot. People join in walking with them as they go along and in the end is the main band playing.
