Assemblage is basically a collection of ideas, things, or people. Johnson-Ellola and Selber’s say that assemblage is a controversial term that in order to comment on the nature of writing in a remix culture we must have assemblage. For now assemblage as is a writing practice they mention in academic courses only beginning to seem on our gatherings despite the fact that remixed artifacts are everywhere, all around us. Ellola and Selber believe assemblages are text built primarily and explicitly from existing texts in order to solve a writing communication problem in a new context.  There really is not a line to be drawn because it is said in the article that it is best that we copy original works due to the fact that it makes a better writers. Like Johnson-Ellola and Selber mentioned teachers should be encouraging students to learn ways to use existing information to solve real problems. It does not mean that they will be copying their whole lives it is just a helper into getting students started with their own creation that solves real life situations. Not only that, but also creating their own remixes. We do not always have to copy word for word, but doing so is not where the line is drawn or should be drawn. In this article, as I got towards the end I started getting confused because I did not really understand the whole template part and the whole purpose of the architecture pattern. I also did not understand why we needed to know that. Was it trying to explain how individuals plagiarize?
