Idea 2: The second idea included Superman and the concept of
the Ubermensch that was proposed by Frederick Nietzche. Ubermensch was the idea
there would be one outstanding citizen, who was just an ordinary man and
possessed the best qualities of man in order to justify actions that go beyond
the law. Although the Ubermensch can be translated “Overman” or “Superman,”
they bore very little similarities. Batman can relate to the Ubermensch since
they both have no powers and are in peak physical and mental condition. Wrestlers
and circus performers of that era inspired the costume of Superman.
Idea 3: The third idea is the use of zombies in pop culture
and media. The zombie that is known in western civilization was derived from Haitian
voodoo. Terms such as “walking dead” and “zombie” first popped up in the 1930’s,
but gained traction from the 1960’s.
