This concept of genealogy was very new to me, which is why at first I struggled with coming up with a topic. However, over the week I was able to decide on the topic I plan to write about. The paper will start by discussing the famous novel and movie Alice in Wonderland. There is a simple story line that can be briefly summed up by saying that a girl stumbles upon adventure, and inevitably eventually desires to return home. This story will be the main topic, and the rest of the concepts presented in the paper will be proven to have evolved off of this story.

The first “remix” will discuss The Wizard of Oz. When taken into perspective, the storyline for this movie is nearly identical to that of Alice in Wonderland. I will discuss the plot, its similarities to Alice in Wonderland, and how it was transformed so that it was viewed as something original. The second remix that I will discuss will be the novel Go Ask Alice. This novel has several similarities to Alice in Wonderland, although they are more disguised. Once again, I will discuss the plot and how it relates to Alice in Wonderland. The similarities are not as obvious, and most often go unnoticed. Lastly, I will relate the song “White Rabbit” by Jefferson Airplane. This famous song uses references such as “…go ask Alice” and “…if you go chasing rabbits”, making it relatable to the overall topic. Once again, the concept of this idea originated from the original Alice in Wonderland.
