            This article defines mystery in a few different ways and gives us an idea of what mystery really is and how it is distinguished and used. In the beginning of the article it defines mystery as being a problem that has not yet been solved and it is very distinguished from a secret, which is having power because you know something whereas a mystery is something that hasn’t been solved yet. Also in this article the author uses mystery as a way to describe religious thought. I found this to be very interesting because it shows how the mystery genre plays a part in anything.

            This article is interesting because it shows the history of mystery and how it has evolved overtime. One of the key components of this article I want tot highlight is how Edgar Allen Poe introduced the first fictional detective for the genre mystery fiction. He also was one of the first people to shift the focus of mystery stories from the aesthetics of the situation to a more intellectual reality.

            This article is very helpful because it describes what the mystery genre generally consists of. Mystery is typically focused on the investigation of a crime or an unsolved crime. This article describes all the mysteries that can be involved such as a supernatural mystery or a thriller mystery. This article is also very interesting because it describes the beginning of mystery and how it all began.

            This article is useful because it describes the general plot to the mystery genre. The main plot of the mystery is focused on the crime that needs to be solved. The main character is the detective and the remaining characters are usually the subjects in the mystery. It always begins with an inciting action and the use of suspense to draw the reader in. The protagonist always works to solve the mystery but finds himself in danger and eventually the crime is finally solved.

            This article is basically similar to the other articles I have chosen. It briefly explains the history of a mystery novel and how it has evolved over time. Something to highlight out of this article is the formula Conan Doyle used to help establish the classic English mystery and it usually involves several predictable elements such as a closed setting, and an investigating detective with extraordinary powers.
