This article talks about how disco has been reinvented into House music and how it stays alive through House music. It relates how Disco has been been changed to become House music as well as it talks about what House music is specifically and what sounds and beats make it a House tune. 

2. “Can You Feel It? DJs and House Music Culture in the UK”

A brief background on how house music came about and how it made its way to the UK is given. It then talks about the reasons on why it came about, for example, that they wanted to “re-create some of the atmosphere of the Mediterranean club scene.” It talks about raves and also about how the dance music is influencing other music.

3. “A cross-sectional survey of young people attending a music festival: associations between drug use and musical preference”

There is a relation between increased drug use and music festivals. The conclusion states how drug use is more common at music festivals than compared to the general population of Australia. A chart is given that shows the percent of people that took a certain drug in relation to music preference. 

4. “So long, bros”

This article gives a brief explanation of how EDM music today has stemmed from House music in the 1990s. It talks mainly about how today’s Dubstep formed from the house music then, starting off with one group and singer and then describing how it got to be Dubstep. Also it mentions what Dubstep is and how the “feel” of it is. 

5. “Cross-Dressing to Backbeats: The Status of the Electroclash Producer and the Politics of Electronic Music”

This article talks about how electronic music used to be happy and soulful but it has started to become dark and non-cheery. Then a group called “Electroclash” noticed this and started to experiment with more happy and grooving tunes to bring back the good moods. There is also a description on how electronic dance music is made and then in the conclusion it describes how EDM has changed since when it first came around till now.
