Blog Post #5

Having a semiotic unit such as Snow White, brings the automatic assumption of children and fairytales. Bringing this to life, I have summated 3 ideas that could possibly become my remediation. The first being possibly a movie trailer that accurately depicts the three texts and medias of comparison. Highlighting important features that are characteristically different in each of the movies and the original tale. This would serve to appease a younger audience, possibly around the teens.
My second idea, more appealing to children, would be a children's book. Separate from the norm, it would be a pop up book that focused on the renditions of Snow White. Essentially, 'popping up' the differential elements such as the apple, the prince, and the Evil Queen. The parts of the story that actually change between the remixes. This pop-up book being targeted towards kids, would include mostly images in it's representation.
My third and final idea for a remediation would be an app. Yes an app. One that could potentially target all ages but specifically adults. If made for adults, it would be in a way that provides images, videos and blog posts on the remixes. It would be informal display of Snow White, having the same effect that a presentation would have, but instead more hands-on, or interactive. If it were to be targeted toward children, which many children do use apps this day-and-age, it would possibly have a game of some sort either a crossword puzzle or maybe a scrabble game. It would also include entertaining quizzes that would question the user on the possible differences of the plots between the remixes.
